The 2025 Canada Games Host Society is excited to reveal the group of inspiring community members who have been named torchbearers for the Orangestore 2025 Canada Games Torch Relay. 

A total of 130 individuals were chosen from more than 500 nominations to carry the torch in Nova Scotia and across Newfoundland and Labrador.

“We were thrilled to see so many people from across the province nominated. Through the review process, it was very inspiring to read about all of the incredible people making a difference in their communities,” said Kim Keating and Karl Smith, Co-Chairs of the 2025 Canada Games Host Society. “This group of torchbearers that were chosen truly represents the heart and spirit of our province and are leaders who inspire through sport, service, and community involvement.”

The Orangestore Torch Relay officially began on June 11 with the ceremonial lighting of the Roly McLenahan Torch on Parliament Hill in Ottawa. The first community stop takes place at Orangestore in Membertou, Nova Scotia, on June 27, after Journey Supporter Marine Atlantic will carry the torch to Port aux Basques, Newfoundland, arriving on June 28.

The relay will then stop in 15 communities across the province, engaging local residents through a series of events and community celebrations before the lighting of the cauldron at the Opening Ceremony on August 9, 2025.

Channel-Port aux Basques - June 28

Torch Relay begins: 6:30 p.m.*Dependent on landing of MA vessel

End:  Orangestore, 20 High St

Stephenville - June 30

Torch Relay begins: 11 a.m.

Start: North Atlantic - 157 Main St

End: YMCA Stephenville‍

Corner Brook - July 1

Torch Relay begins: 8:30 a.m.

Start: Corner Brook City Hall

End: Corner Brook Civic Centre ('99 Legacy Centre)

Rocky Harbour - July 2

Torch Relay begins: 11:00 a.m.

Start: Lobster Cove Head Lighthouse

End: Rocky Harbour Town Square
